Next generation YZ450F-based engine Sometimes there’s no substitute for power. The lighter next generation 450cc 4-stroke reverse-head engine is the strongest and most advanced design ever used on a Yamaha enduro bike. Its frontfacing inlet, rear slanted cylinder help to deliver more power at all rpm, giving you con dence that you can leave the opposition behind. Higher e ciency air intake The unique design of the WR450F’s front facing air intake enables the 450cc engine to run at peak e ciency at all rpm. A straight intake port runs directly to the 39mm inlet valves, giving instant throttle response for immediate acceleration when you need it. Enduro speci c disc spring clutch To handle the increased power of the new generation 450cc engine Yamaha’s engineers have developed a durable and compact one-piece steel clutch with a disc spring that minimizes engine weight and keeps engine width to a minimum. Featuring an optimized enduro-speci c design, this durable new clutch gives a light pull with plenty of feel – and is designed to handle the extreme conditions of enduro riding. Lightweight wide ratio 5-speed transmission To match the most challenging enduro conditions, the WR450F runs with a specially designed 5-speed wide ratio gearbox. Featuring gears with increased strength this durable transmission is ideal for both technical as well as high speed sections. Compact new aluminium chassis The WR450F’s new aluminium chassis is developed from the latest YZ450F that has an outstanding race winning record in MXGP and Supercross. The rigidity of the dual tank rails is optimized to give a controlled level of ex for improved shock absorption. And the WR450F is equipped with enduro-speci c engine mounts that give revised chassis rigidity for improved feel and feedback. Slimmer and more compact bodywork Yamaha’s design team has completely redesigned the bodywork, making the new WR450F look and feel more compact than ever. The shrouds are 50mm narrower, and the bike’s mid-section is also much slimmer – and together with the atter seat this new bodywork provides improved rider mobility. Newly designed fenders and side panels give an all-new look as well as underlining the bike’s ultra-compact and agile feel.
